I bought it in a guitar shop. I had it refretted by an expert luthier shortly after purchasing it. It did not have original pickups. In the early 90s, vintage pickups (and a pick guard) that more closely matched the originals were installed. I don't know the dates of these pickups but from the plastic bobbins and dating of the one pot, perhaps they are circa 1975, but I can't really date them. The guitar has a beautifully worn (not beaten) vintage finish. From the front all you see is the soft wearing of the finish where your arm rests across the body and along the side of the maple neck. On close inspection, some very tiny finish cracks are visible on the front. There are some chips in the paint along the underside and some belt buckle wear on the back. I can e-mail photos. This guitar looks just like the one you see Hendrix play at Woodstock. The action and frets are low and it plays very fast. E-mail me by clicking here.
